FAMILY LEARNING WEEK

family learning weekFamily Learning Fortnight - 9th to 20th August 2004

Hammersmith & Fulham Adult Education Service is running a summer programme of free family learning courses from the 9th to the 20th of August 2004 at Media Cafe, the Bryony Centre and the Munster Centre

What Is Family Learning?

Family learning is learning that is designed for both parents and their children to learn at the same time. The focus is on tutors supporting activities that teach both children and their parents new skills at their respective levels of understanding. And of course, the added benefit for the family is that it enables family members to share the experience of learning.

Here are a couple of links about family learning that give a good idea of what it's all about...

Family Learning at Media Cafe, Bryony & Munster Centres

In the case of Media cafe, for example, the family learning will focus on computing and using computers for digital art activities. Tutors will be on hand to help parents and their children get to grips with fun uses for computers, including creating birthday cards and invitations, scanning and emailing photos, online scavenger hunts, making fun posters and many more.
