Online Resources

One of the most comprehensive online resources for gardening is the Virtual Library gardening links

However, if there's a little too much information there for your liking, why not try starting your exploration with some of these sites...

BBC's Gardening subsite: There's a reason this is the most popular website in the world and the Gardening section of the BBC's site rarely disappoints. Packed full of information and tips from all those top gardening programmes. Incidently, it also has a fun online virtual garden planner that you can download and use to design the garden of your dreams.

The City Gardener: The site from the Channel 4 Programme of the same name, this is an excellent site for all of us who love gardens and gardening but may not belucky enough to have much space in which to do it.

The Garden History Society: For those who are interested in how we grew into how we grow today...

Let's Go Gardening: A simply laid out, partly commercial site with lots of straightforward information of how to care for particular types of plants and other useful tips as well as information on such things as the law and gardens and public gardens open to visitors in the UK.

Strange But True

Carnivorous Plant Society: Who said gardening had to be tame and sedate? The society for people who love flesh-eating plants

Stewart's Giant Pumpkin Page: For those who link size and achievement, the pictures of Stewart's giant pumpkins should prove a motivation and inspiration
The Old Lawnmower Club: As the site says, the world's only club for people interested in vintage mowers
