If you're a gardening fan but the crowds and prices of Chelsea are putting
you off, why not try a, literally, more down-to-earth flower show. The annual
Flower Shower will be taking place at Ravenscourt Park.
This free Flower Show will feature stalls, gardening demonstrations, competitions,
a French Market and Gardener's Question time

Blooming Year of Gardening
2004, the Year of Gardening, is the bicentenary of the Royal
Horticultural Society which is celebrating 200 years of great gardening.
During the course of the year there will be numerous related projects and events
going on within some of the leading museums, art galleries and clubs to celebrate
the activities of gardeners and gardening.
Some of the highlights in London include:
Geffrye Museum: "Home & Garden" - A series of exhibitions looking at the
way in which domestic and garden spaces have been represented in painting.

London Wetland Centre: "Wildlife Gardening Week" More...
Tate Britain: "Art of the Garden" - Works by John Constable, J M W Turner,
Ford Maddox Brown, Gertrude Jekyll, Stanley Spencer and Lucian Freud are included
in this substantial exhibition on the art of the garden over the last 200 years.
A full range of activities and events are running to complement the exhibition.
These include, A talk on artist/gardeners of the 20th century on 9 July, Artists’
talks Workshops for families and a Art of the Garden trail, designed especially
for children.
